The HB DUO was designed to meet the ever increasing diverse equestrian transportation needs of the modern rider. Over the last few years the typical 3.5 tonne horsebox with around a 1 tonne capacity has struggled to meet the legal gross weight requirements when carrying two horses.
With this in mind, we have developed a horsebox using the iveco daily 50C van(5.2 tonne vehicle), and the 65C van (6.5 Tonne vehicle). Typically a HB DUO with the weekender package built on a 50C van will have a payload of 2.3 tonnes and a 65C van payload of 3.1 tonnes.
The Iveco daily van is powered by either a 2.8 Ltr (50C model,) or a 3.0 Ltr(65C model) engine providing you bags of power combined with a 6 speed gearbox, giving you a smooth and economic drive.
Advantages of the HB DUO over a typical 3.5 tonne horsebox :
- Twin rear wheel drive increases traction and off road capabilities of the vehicle.
- Dedicated chassis which produces a stronger and safer all-round vehicle, giving a better ride for your horses
- Due to increased payload and chasis length, this allows the customer to be a lot more flexible when designing the horsebox in respect to the additional features they would like.
- The HB DUO horsebox is a compact vehicle in size, very similar to the typical 3.5 tonne vehicle, but with the capabilities of most 7.5 tonne vehicles.
